Details regarding try-outs: All coaches are required to stay on campus on Monday, February 24th to ensure all paperwork is complete for all players interested in trying out. Although we cannot have a try-out session that day, all athletes are required to get signed-in and ensure that paperwork is complete; to include physical, concussion training, and emergency card. After I hand in paperwork for all the players who have signed in, I am expected to go over team guidelines and expectations with all players interested in trying out.
I realize that the athletic department is asking you to turn-in paperwork prior to Feb. 24th; and I will have the emergency cards for all players who attend pre-season training. This does not change. The steps we all will follow are below:
- You must hand in all your paperwork to the athletic department by Wednesday, February 19th.
- If you are participating in pre-season training, I will have your emergency card.
- I will provide a list of athletes interested in trying out for girls soccer to the athletic department.
- Currently, my list includes the players receiving this email.
- The athletic department will match the paperwork that they received to the names on the list that I provided.
- Upperclassman are reminded to staple her concussion training to her physical BEFORE turning it in.
- Monday, February 24th: All athletes trying out for spring sports are required to sign-in with his/her respective sport.
- When you sign in with me, I will issue you a try-out number for you to use through the remainder of the week.
- Once I have all the required information, I will turn the package into the athletic department.
- After paperwork is complete, I will meet with you all as a group on campus.
- I would like to meet with all seniors after the entire group meets.
- Students trying out for girls soccer will be timed in a two-mile run on the school's track.
- The timed run will take place AFTER we meet as a group.
- The girls' soccer coaches will provide official time at the track.
- Dress appropriately for the weather.
- As long as all students have necessary paperwork, we can move to the track around 2:30pm-2:45pm. If paperwork is not in order, the time will be delayed.
- For those who need picked up: Runners should be done by 3:15pm (AGAIN, as long as paperwork is in order). When we head out to the track, students can text the status update for an estimated completion time.
- The track is durable - rain will not result in cancellation.
- Physical try-outs begin Tuesday, February 25th and continue through Thursday, February 27th.
- The time is 3:30pm-5pm.
However, the location has not been provided to me yet. - A bus will be provided to take participants to Howison Park.
- Please arrange to be picked up from the park.
- Howison is a turf field - rain will not result in cancellation.
